"body": "## A whole care business, held together by spreadsheets and goodwill\n\nSupported-living care runs on paperwork — rosters, supervisions, medication records, training compliance, incident logs, mileage claims, timesheets — and this provider was running most of it by hand, across three branches, on a patchwork of outsourced platforms and spreadsheets that didn't talk to each other.\n\nThe costs of that show up everywhere a regulator looks. Compliance evidence scattered across different providers. Refresher training tracked manually. Care-quality signals buried in separate systems that only got cross-checked when someone had a spare afternoon. And a 500-strong support-worker workforce that didn't even have a consistent digital identity to log in with.\n\nThey didn't need one more app. They needed someone to systematically automate the whole business — carefully, in the right order, without breaking the care in the meantime.\n\n## One transformation, delivered as ~18 governed workstreams\n\nInstead of a risky big-bang overhaul, we broke the transformation into governed lanes — each scoped, built, and board-gated before anything touched real client data. Here are the ones that matter most.\n\n### The core platform (ERP / CRM)\n\nThe strongest single piece of the work. We built a modular platform to replace the reach of an outsourced system that only covered recruitment — a canonical people registry with identity matching, an append-only audit trail, an ingestion pipeline (email, automated capture, manual entry), report mirrors reconciled against real exports, a task engine with a \"My Planner\" view, service-user referral-to-onboarding journeys, incident case management, and a requisition-governance module.\n\nThe hard facts, all from the real work:\n\n- A single roster import created **294 carers and 293 service users** as clean canonical records — straight from the client's real CSVs.\n- Identity matching **auto-resolved 274 of 418** review candidates, so humans only had to look at the genuinely ambiguous ones.\n- **588 supervision and spot-check schedules** were instantiated automatically.\n- Everything reconciled against real exports — 500 visits, 175 medication alerts, 416 names routed to review — so the numbers could be trusted.\n\nIt's live: a production pilot the client is actively using and giving structured feedback on.\n\n### Self-hosted Learning Management System\n\nWe replaced outsourced training and manual, spreadsheet-based refresher-tracking with a self-hosted LMS — plus a custom compliance layer to track mandatory, refresher and overdue training the off-the-shelf tool couldn't handle natively. Seeded across all three branches, courses loaded, and staged for go-live. It turns scattered CQC inspection evidence into one place you can actually point an inspector at.\n\n### QA / management oversight dashboard\n\nLive. It pulls care-quality signals from multiple systems into one view — KPI cards, branch comparisons, a support-worker priority watchlist, a repeat-concern watchlist for service users, medication review, and a filterable review queue. Instead of hunting through separate systems for exceptions, managers see what needs attention in one place.\n\n### Production infrastructure, done properly\n\nAll of this runs on hardened, monitored, EU-hosted infrastructure built as code — with real backups and a *verified* restore test, not just a hopeful one. The documented audit came back with **zero failures and zero warnings across every layer.** We don't just build it; we run it properly.\n\n### Support-worker digital identity\n\nThe 500-strong support-worker workforce had no consistent login identity — which was quietly blocking the LMS and portal rollout. We gave every worker a managed, EEA-hosted mailbox identity, with DNS verified and provisioning tooling built to roll it out safely.\n\n**And more, in active build:** a staff intranet and portal (announcements, HR resources, policy acknowledgement, clock-in/out), a mobile mileage-claims app with an automated eligibility-and-variance rules engine, and support-worker leave requests — plus a stack of discovery work: an M365 governance audit, an AI rota-scheduler feasibility study, VoIP call-transcription compliance analysis, and governed WhatsApp announcements.\n\n## Governed, staged, and never reckless with real care data\n\nCare is not a place for \"move fast and break things.\" Every workstream was governed: scoped, built on staging, reconciled against the client's real exports, and board-gated before it went anywhere near live service-user data. The client tests each lane and gives structured feedback before it's signed off.\n\nThat's the same discipline we hold our own infrastructure to — audited, monitored, backed up, restore-tested. It's why a care provider can trust us with the spine of their business.\n\n## Live, in production, and growing\n\n- The core platform is a **live production pilot** the client is actively using.\n- **294 carers and 293 service users** exist as clean, canonical, auditable records where before there were CSVs and duplicates.\n- **588 supervision schedules** are created and tracked automatically instead of by hand.\n- The QA oversight dashboard is **live**, giving managers one place to see what needs attention.\n- Production infrastructure passed its audit with **zero failures and zero warnings.**"

"body": "## The best service in the business — and the slowest to scale\n\nThis consultancy is genuinely good at spotting bias in workplace documents — job descriptions, policies, performance frameworks — and rewriting them so they're fairer. The problem is that \"genuinely good\" was tied to a human being. Every review meant a consultant at £100–200 an hour reading a document line by line, which added up to roughly £300–400 per engagement and a real chunk of a working day.\n\nThat's a lovely margin on a slow day and a hard ceiling on a busy one. You can't clone your best reviewer, you can't do a hundred documents at once, and you certainly can't offer it at a price a smaller client would pay. The expertise was real. The delivery model was the bottleneck.\n\n## Debiaser.ai — the expertise, productised\n\nWe built a self-service web app that packages that review process into software. A customer uploads their documents and — before a single AI call runs — sees a transparent, credit-based price quote, so there are never any surprises. The system then runs an AI-powered bias analysis and returns two things: a \"redline\"-style report with inline, severity-marked findings and quoted evidence, and a fully revised, de-biased version of the document in its original format — Word, Excel, PowerPoint or PDF.\n\nIt's built for real organisations, not just individuals: shared credit pools, approval workflows for enterprise buyers, live card payments with automatic VAT handling, and privacy baked in — uploaded documents auto-delete after seven days.\n\nThe result is the consultancy's expertise, available on demand, at a price point that opens up an entirely new tier of customer.\n\n## The one number that changes the business\n\nHere's the shift, straight from the work: a review that used to mean **hours of consultant time at £100–200 an hour — roughly £300–400 per engagement** — is now a self-service task that costs the customer **£10–80 and completes in minutes.**\n\nThat's not a discount. It's a different kind of business. A service that could only ever be sold a few times a day, to clients who could stomach the price, is now a product that can run any number of documents at once, around the clock, for clients who'd never have booked the consultant version. A bottlenecked billable service became a scalable revenue line — without giving up the rigour that made it worth buying.\n\n## Transparent, private, and properly shipped\n\nTwo principles shaped the build. First, no surprises: the customer sees the price before any AI runs, so trust is never in question. Second, privacy by default: documents auto-delete after seven days, and the whole thing runs on EU infrastructure.\n\nAnd it's genuinely *shipped* — live in production since June 2026, now running in a governed maintenance-and-improvement mode. This isn't a prototype that demoed well and died. It's a real product doing real work for real money.\n\n## A live product, doing the job of a consultant\n\n- **Live in production since 12 June 2026.**\n- Consultant reviews at **£300–400 per engagement** replaced by self-service at **£10–80 per document.**\n- Turnaround cut from **hours to minutes.**\n- A new, lower-price customer tier that the human-only model could never have served."

"body": "## When the pricing lives in someone's head\n\nPlenty of manufacturers run on relationships and memory. Trade customers ring up or email; someone who knows the account remembers their pricing; orders get handled ad hoc; production and dispatch are tracked wherever there's room. It works — right up until the person who remembers is off sick, or the order volume grows, or a price gets quoted wrong and eats the margin.\n\nThis manufacturer had exactly that: informal order-taking and per-customer pricing that lived in people's heads rather than a system. They needed to turn it into a repeatable, reliable workflow — without losing the account-specific pricing their trade relationships depend on.\n\n## A complete trade portal, plus a brand refresh\n\nWe built a full trade portal covering the whole order lifecycle. On the customer side: a public brochure site, secure passwordless login for trade customers, and a portal showing their own account-specific pricing, the catalogue, ordering, and quick repeat/reorder.\n\nOn the staff side: a workspace for managing customers, products and price rules, an order queue, production records, dispatch records, and invoice drafts. At the centre is a multi-unit pricing matrix — feet, metres, square feet, square metres, or each — with bulk reprice, plus handling for cross-border orders into Ireland. And because first impressions count in trade too, we delivered a complete brand redesign across every surface.\n\nThe demo was seeded from the client's own real price-list workbook, giving a realistic system loaded with around 74 customers, 888 products and 1,263 price rules on day one.\n\n## A usable foundation first, then the rest\n\nRather than hold everything back for one enormous launch, we delivered Phase 1 as a signed-off, usable foundation the client could review and trust — order-to-dispatch working end to end, staged behind secure access. Deeper accounting integration and full invoicing are deliberately scoped into Phase 2, so the client gets value early and we build on proven ground.\n\nIt's built the way we build everything: proper software, tested end to end, staged for review before it goes fully live.\n\n## Order-to-dispatch, digitised\n\n- **Phase 1 signed off** (April 2026) as a usable foundation.\n- Order → production → dispatch → invoice-draft now runs as **one workflow** instead of ad-hoc handling.\n- Per-customer pricing is **computed by a rules engine**, not remembered.\n- Live hosted preview running behind secure access, staged for client review."

But the traditional options are grim: a web agency with a five-figure quote and a three-month timeline, or a drag-and-drop builder that charges you rent forever and still looks like everyone else's. Small businesses — a new travel agency, a local credit-hire firm — need a middle path: a real, credible, properly-built site, live fast, without a monthly bill hanging over it.\n\n## Two businesses, from nothing to live\n\n**A new UK travel agency.** We took the client from zero web presence to a live marketing site: services sections, a tested working enquiry form, WhatsApp and phone contact wiring, and the trading-disclosure footer. We handled the lot end to end — domain purchase, DNS, HTTPS hosting, and interim email routing — so they had a working front door and a working inbox from day one.\n\n**A local credit-hire firm.** A sharp single-page marketing site with the technical fundamentals baked in: structured data so search engines understand the business, plus the SEO basics — sitemap, robots and the rest — done properly.
